FMCSA registration check
Every listed mover's USDOT and (where applicable) MC number is verified against the FMCSA SAFER database before they go live. We pull authority status, insurance on file, safety rating, and inspection history directly from FMCSA — no self-reporting.
Insurance on file
Cargo + liability insurance must be active in the FMCSA registry. Movers whose insurance lapses are auto-suspended from accepting new bookings until reinstated.
W-9 + payout setup
We require a verified W-9 and a connected Stripe Connect account before a mover can accept marketplace payouts. This ensures we know who we're paying and that customer funds flow safely.
Background-check program
Movers can opt into our background-check badge program. Badge status is visible on the mover's public profile — never claimed unless verified.
Customer reviews — verified only
Reviews come from real bookings: only customers whose moves we processed can leave a review. No anonymous "Yelp-style" submissions, no purchased reviews.
Safety policies that protect you
Binding NTE estimates on interstate moves. Per FMCSA regulations, every interstate move on MoveSpace carries a Not-To-Exceed price guarantee. Your mover cannot charge more than the estimate without your written approval, signed on move day.
Escrow on marketplace bookings. Funds collected through our checkout are held until your move is complete. If the mover fails to perform, you’re entitled to a full refund through our dispute process.
Independent claim review. Disputes that can’t be resolved between you and your mover are escalated to MoveSpace for independent review. Our platform decision is binding — backed by the mover’s marketplace agreement.
Coverage available. Optional supplemental coverage is offered at checkout for fast resolution of minor damage — separate from the mover’s own cargo insurance.
